Your questions deserve complete, easy-to-understand answers. Dr. Shirazi has created this list of our most commonly asked questions, along with answers, for your convenience. However, if you have other questions, or if you want to talk with a Newport Smiles team member, give us a call. We're happy to help you!
What sets yours apart from other dental practices I could visit?
We don’t believe dental care should conform to the idea of "one size fits all." The Newport Smiles team believes in one-on-one patient care. You will never feel like just another number in our office. Dr. Shirazi will spend time evaluating your oral health and suggesting the best course of action to fit your unique situation.
I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?
Invisalign ®, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening or cosmetic bonding can improve your front teeth without the hassle and discomfort of traditional braces. Each procedure serves a unique purpose, but they all contribute to creating a fantastic new smile. Talk to Dr. Shirazi about the best option for your situation.
I brush every day, but my breath just is not fresh. Is there anything I can do?
Halitosis, or bad breath, can occur for a variety of reasons. Some of the most common causes include dry mouth, denture wearing, food retention, poor oral hygiene, decay, gingivitis, gum disease, an unclean tongue, alcohol consumption, and smoking. Most of these factors increase the bacteria in the oral cavity. These bacteria produce nasty compounds that cause bad breath. Our staff will work with you to begin an effective home care program, such as conventional brushing and flossing, daily irrigation of the mouth tissues, and regular tongue cleaning. We may also recommend ClosysII or Breath Rx breath treatments.
I really do not like visiting the dentist. Can you help me relax?
We've found that patients who feel calm have better visits, so we do everything we can to make your visit comfortable. Extra touches like aromatherapy, blankets, eye pillows, and other comforts come standard in our office. We also use nitrous oxide to help you relax during treatment. For patients experiencing more anxiety, we offer conscious sedation dentistry. You simply take a pill before you come to our office, and your whole dental visit will pass quickly and painlessly. What insurance and payment methods do you accept?
We accept PPO plans. You make your co-payment, and then we electronically file the claims. Other payment options include cash, check, credit card, and third party financing through CareCredit.
